This map represents the complex geographical network of authors and translators that
appear in our database. The green nodes represent translators while the orange nodes represent authors, and the size
of the node corresponds to the number of times an author or translator appears in our database from that country.
The edges between each node designate an author-translator pair. The thickness of the edge designates the number of
author-translator pairs between the two countries. Notice how green nodes are mostly clustered in the Arab world while
the majority of orange nodes cluster in the West. Meanwhile, the thickest edges exist between countries in the Arab world
and the United States or the United Kingdom.
This relationship represents patterns of colonialism and imperialism visible through paratexts.
